Diary No. 6+7

Hey there hi there ho there!

oof. This past week has been straight up survival mode and we are finally coming out of it. It was Spring break for my teacher husband. I had plans to deep clean the entire house, go on a date night, shop for Easter, go to the park. Instead we were all home fighting various sicknesses.

it was not what I had intended and I am working very hard to keep perspective and not be sad about it. Our spring break started out SO fun with a trip to Tucson, AZ to visit Josh’s cousin And his wife (which sounds weird to say because they are friends not just family!). it was so nice to visit with peers People who are in a similar stage in life and who share similar interests. We had so much fun with them! It was firstly nice to just have conversation with them and get to know them more, but we also took the boys to a lot of fun places. It is so fun to explore and watch your kids experience new things! It’s definitely worth the exhaustion and work it takes to travel with kids. This was our first road trip with toddlers longer than 2.5 hours, and it went surprisingly well! it didn’t scar us, so I think next time we might attempt a longer drive!

sickness hit on our way home and it stayed with us until the very last day of spring break. It jacked up any sense of routine and all plans flew out the window. Today I am finally feeling like myself. I’m reminding myself to have low expectations as we get back into our routines, and that literally nothing will happen if I don’t get to deep clean my house this spring. (Which i still plan on doing, but just have to spread it out a bit more now).

the week before I intended to write a diary post, but nothing interesting happened! I was just focused on getting ready for our trip and enjoying the fact that the boys were finally sleeping past 6 am consistently (had to say goodbye to that too with time change. It happened before, we can get it back. i remind myself of this often). I had been waking up at 5:30 everyday because they were still sleeping until almost 7 some days. It was so nice to have some quiet alone time in the morning! I’m praying it doesn’t take too long for them to get back into sleeping a little later.

this week is already better, as no one is sick anymore! Yay! Here are some photos from the last two weeks.

(I’m not proof reading this, so I know there are some typos. Just look past it, k?)
