Diary No. 12
Hey there hi there ho there!
Back with another weekly diary. I'm kind of excited to see that I've been consistent with these, I know I only missed one week since I came back from my break this year! That always makes me happy. I have so enjoyed the past two years of posting on my blog every week! I pray that it continues to grow. I know that I will for sure be taking December off this year, and maybe every year honestly! From social media as well as from writing. I'll probably have a couple of scheduled posts to go up that will be holiday themed, but it's always a hard time of year to focus on writing when I just want to do all the Christmas things with my family. Haha, that was a super random update!
This past week, I realized I was sick. of. cleaning. I felt like all I did all day was clean clean clean, so I told myself last Monday that I'm not going to clean any more than necessary. I stuck with my daily chores (kitchen cleaning, vacuuming, laundry) but didn't do any deeper cleaning. This allowed me to actually rest during the boys nap time and catch up on writing and I needed it so much! Guess what? My house didn't fall apart! I do need to catch up this week and dust and clean my bathroom and such, but it is a good reminder that nothing will go wrong if things are spick and span for one week.
If you need some extra rest this week, I encourage you to take it! Let go of the tasks that you can let go of and just rest a bit. I promise that you can get back to it the next week with even more vigor and you'll be glad you rested!
Here's a little recap of our week!
My MIL gave the boys some Tonka cars that their uncle Seth played with last year. I hadn't brought them out because they weren't ready, but two weeks ago I brought them out. They are obsessed! They will grab the basket of cars and sit quietly and play for the longest time!
My cousin and I were chatting about how often we both feel like we have do EVERYTHING to make up for lack of income as stay at home moms and how we have to remember that it's okay to rest because we do ENOUGH. She sent me this from a book she's reading and it is so encouraging.
A pretty almond milk latte. (Featuring my reusable ice cubes because they keep my drink cold but don't water it down if I don't get to finish it quickly #momlife).
I planted tulips in the fall and it brought me so much joy to see the first one bloom!...then the wind tore it to shreds on Friday and it looks pitiful. Thankfully I have more that are about to open!
Don't ask why, because I don't know! I can't control much in the chaos of momming two toddlers, but I can line their cars up nicely (we've since misplaced two of them and I'm trying not to drive myself crazy looking for them haha).
I'm doing a giveaway on Instragram! Enter here @coffeewithkaydee to win a starbucks gift card for you and a friend to go on a coffee date and 2 mugs!
Oliver LOVES hanging out with Josh before he leaves for work. It's so sweet!
Attempted a restaurant alone with the boys on Friday to get a smoothie before the library. It went much better than I expected!
My mom and I saw this in Hobby Lobby and I thought it was fitting for my introverted husband, haha!
Brotherly love! They sure fight a lot, but these sweet moments make up for it.
Celebrated my bestie getting married at the end of May at her bridal shower! It was so much fun!
Asa cozied up on the couch with a blanket all on his own and it was soooooo sweet!
I hope you all had a great week! Chat soon.
