Fall 2021 Bucket List

hey there hi there ho there!

Yes I'm back again with more Fall content. Today is actually the *official* first day of Autumn, though it's always fall in my heart, haha. I won't keep droning on about how much I love fall, y'all already know!

I did a summer bucket list and it was so much fun! It was fun to be intentional about what we did over the summer. It helped to make sure I took full advantage of the season, to do the fun things I wanted (not just the boring things I had to do) and to make wonderful memories with my little family. It was fun doing some firsts with the boys!

OF COURSE I have to do one in the Fall, my favorite time of year! (okay okay I'll stop).

Last time I shared a little template so that you can save it and make your own bucket list, and I will be doing that again!

There are so many things that I wish I could do this Autumn that just aren't available where I live (or honestly doable with twin babies) but I'm going to make the most of what IS available! I shared a bit last week about going all out for Autumn and making sure we spend intentional time making memories with our family and slowing down in everything else in life. I hope creating a little bucket list helps you do that!

Here's my Fall Bucket List---some things are small, some things are bigger, but they are all fun!

1 // Bake Every Week/Every Other Week

I absolutely love baking, way more than cooking. Last Autumn I didn't bake much because I was major pregnant and standing on my feet for a long time was a no go. This Autumn I am ready to make up for it and bake every week/every other week at least! I've made a list of fall baked goods I want to make that I'll be sharing with you all soon, and I hope you'll join me in marking some of them off the list.

2// Autumn Hike+Picnic

We thankfully live just about 20 minutes from some gorgeous mountain scenes and I would love to take our family up and have a little picnic and hike. I can smell the crisp Autumn air and hear the crunch of leaves already! I think it would be such a fun date, too, so we'll see if we get to do that this Fall.

3// Paint/Carve Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins can be a challenge and its very messy. They also don't last very long afterward! However painting pumpkins is super easy and fun! I have a few ideas I want to do with the boys feet, but I'll also do some fun ones for decoration. I think that we will also carve some pumpkins so the boys can have a fun sensory activity playing with the pulp!

4// Read a Harry Potter Book

...I'm scared to admit this, but I haven't yet read the Harry Potter series all the way through. I LOVE the movies but when I was a kid and of age to read Harry Potter, my parents thought it was demonic and witch crafty (which it isn't, and they now know that). I love love love the movies and the books too, and I AM reading them! Every Fall I try to read 1-2 books from the series before I dive into my cheesy Christmas novels. I'll probably do that...forever?

5// Have a Fall Movie Marathon

Y'all, I have the *best* fall movie list coming your way in October. We have certain movies we watch this time of year (starting this month with "Shrektember" where we watch all of the Shrek movies). I LOVE watching Halloween/Fall movies (NOT horror movies...ew). They are one of the many things that add to the joy and coziness of this season. I'll be sharing all of my favorite non-horror Fall movies with you very soon!

6 // Have a Bonfire Date

This just sounds dreamy and romantic and the perfect date at home. We have a bonfire hole already, and it gives my husband an excuse to play with fire (anyone else's husband a pyro? I think it's a man thing...) ! I think it will be a great way to cozy up and have some quality time with my husband. We'll make some hot chocolate, grab some big sweaters and cozy blankets, and sit by the fire after our little boys go to bed. I'm excited already!

7// Make a Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte

I love pumpkin spice! I usually get the PSL from Starbucks or buy the Pumpkin Spice creamer from the grocery store, but I really want to make my own pumpkin sauce so I can make a *real* pumpkin spice latte at home (and save some money!). When I do, I'll definitely share what recipe I used either in my newsletter or on my Instagram page, so be sure to subscribe on the home page for my newsletter and follow me @coffeewithkaydee on Instagram!

8// Decorate Porch with Pumpkins

There's nothing more *Fall* to me than a porch full of pumpkins. I did buy a mum, but I think it already bit the dust. I'm not sure if I didn't water it enough or if it got bit by a cold night, but I'm a little sad, it was maroon and so beautiful. I'm hoping it revives. The great thing about pumpkins? They don't wilt in freezing temperatures (especially when you wash them in bleach and coat with Vaseline or hairspray)! I am definitely going to go buy a few to decorate my front step with. Then, when it comes time for carving/painting, I already have some ready to go!

9// Create a Gratitude Journal

Fall goes straight to Thanksgiving, (once Thanksgiving week hits, it's Christmas time for me), and I love that this time of year reminds us to be extra full of gratitude and thankfulness to the Lord for all He has done for us. I want to be intentional this autumn about writing down what I'm thankful for each day so that I can make sure to see the good in every single day. This is something I should do all year round, but to be honest I don't really. That doesn't mean I can't be as grateful as possible in this season! I hope that you will join me in creating a gratitude journal this Autumn so we can share the many blessings the Lord has given to us!

10 // Do an Autumn Clean Out

This is not fun. But it is necessary. My house is cluttered and in some areas I would deem it a disaster. It brings an underlying stress to me and I just need to clean it out. I need to reorganize, purge, and deep clean. With two littles this is a challenge but I am going to dedicate every Thursday (okay I'm going to *try* to decidate every Thursday) to organizing/purging. Not the daily chores, just organizing. Hopefully by the end of the year my home will feel a little more put together and peaceful.

Of course there are few other things that aren't bucket list items because they will happen with ease. One being dress up my babies in Halloween costumes and possibly take them for a little Trick-or-Treat experience. I want to hear the leaves crunch beneath my feet and sit in the Autumn breeze, eat delicious chilli and baked potatoes, watch a football game or two, light pumpkin+apple candles, decorate my table with foliage, dawn the coziest of sweaters, snuggle with my loved ones, and enjoy every ounce of life that I can.

What's on your Autumn Bucket list? Save the template above and share it with me on Facebook stories or IG stories!

Until next week!
