Diary No. 3

Hey there hi there ho there!

happy weekend!

I was surprised this weekend when my husband told me it was a 3 day weekend, thank you president’s day! I don’t know a single person who does anything in celebration of our presidents but at least me and the boys get an extra day with our favorite person.

This past week was…weird. I felt off all week and unproductive every single day. I was tired but I wanted to do things but I didn’t know where to start even though I had a to do list…it was weird. I DID however prioritize spending extra, undistracted time with my babies and that was FUN! We did a Valentine’s sensory activity and a snow activity and that was entertaining, and messy. I have some more fun activities planned for the upcoming week. Something I need to work on is not feeling guilty for not being "productive." I saw a meme the other day was like..."A stay at home mom feels bad for not being productive but she fed children, wiped noses, rocked babies, encouraged imagination, taught, entertained, etc..." and it was such a good reminder that even on my most "unproductive" day, being a mom and taking care of my kids IS enough.

Nothing of significance happened this week, but this was the second week in a row without a new episode of This Is Us, and that is infuriating. I mean, this is the last season of the show, I need an episode every week, okay?! Okay, okay, it's not that big of a deal, haha.

I changed up my schedule this past week and I think that is what threw me off kilter. I'm going to try it again this week and see how it goes, maybe I'll adjust. Two days this past week my children decided to take unexpectedly long naps which always throws me off because I can't figure out if I should get into a time consuming task or not, because they could wake up any minute! I need to work on that too...

Since I honestly don't have anything to say this week, I'll share a few things I'm grateful for this week!

1 // Waking Up Early

Since my angels are sleeping through the night now (thank you Lord!) I am working on waking up before them to enjoy my coffee and some quiet time with Jesus. The mornings I am able to do this I enjoy it so much and I am so thankful for it!

2 // Babies Sleeping Through the Night

After 14 months of waking up at least twice a night but usually much more often, my babies are finally sleeping through the night! I'm so so so thankful. When they were waking a bunch people would tell me "Oh, you'll miss rocking them in the night!" and I can tell you with absolute certainty I do NOT miss it and thoroughly enjoy sleeping a solid 7 hours at night.

3 // Sunshine

This week was a lot colder than it has been and it made me really miss the warm sunshine and taking my boys outside to play!

4 // My Husband

My husband is so gracious and kind and forgiving and hard working and I don’t

deserve Him. I am SO THANKFUL for him!

5 // Things to Look Forward To

We’re planning on a short weekend road trip in March and I am soooo looking forward to it, and looking forward to having something to look forward to I feel like we’ve just been doing the daily grind and it will be nice to break up the monotony.

what is something you are thankful for this past week?!

(Here’s a little photo dump from our week!)
