Diary No. 11
Hey there hi there ho there!
happy Easter weekend!
I am so thankful to be celebrating our risen Savior this weekend!
I’ve spent the last couple of weeks rereading the crucifixion story in the morning and man, it hit different this year. The weight of what Jesus did for me really set on my heart for the first time. I grew up knowing the Story of Christ’s death and resurrection inside out. The marvel of it all wore off a while ago. But this year, the power that Jesus died for me and rose again was so evident to me. The love and the mercy that was poured on the world, and the greatness of an empty tomb! I’m just so thankful for my savior this year and every year.
In other news, I've been doing intermittent fasting in order to bounce forward after gaining a little weight back after weaning my boys from breastfeeding. I've been decently strict with it, and I haven't. lost. anything. Haha. It's a bit discouraging but I'm also reminding myself that all progress does not appear in the number on the scale! I've been working out consistently for the past month, eating better, and feeling better. So that's PROGRESS! Body changes will come in time. In the meantime, I've committed to intermittent fasting until the end of May. I'm going to tweak a couple of things in my diet and exercise routine, and if I don't see any changes by the end of May I'm going back to eating breakfast, haha!
here’s a little recap of our week.
My parents got this folding table for the boys and uhm it's so stinking adorable!
The boys found a way to entertain themselves while I put away all of our groceries last week. They are so SILLY and I LOVE when they make each other laugh!
Me and my sweet, smiley, Oli! So thankful to be his mama.
We spent Saturday morning shampooing our carpet. The carpet in our house is supremely unforgiving and absolutely everything shows up, especially coffee (which our little boys happen to spill often haha). After it was all done it looked SO GOOD and felt like a whole new floor!
The sunflowers were out at the grocery store florist and they made me so happy! Sunflowers are the best way to brighten up the house!
Oliver needed some extra cuddles for his nap one day last week and man was it sweet. Sometimes its frustrating to not get to do anything during naptime, but I KNOW these days are short and one day he won't nap at all. I embraced it and enjoyed it fully.
We were deep cleaning our carpets this weekend and Josh was taking a break to cuddle Asa. He was talking so much and being so silly! It was so funny!
My sweet Asa playing outside in the wildflowers. He's so sweet and I love this photo!
The boys' Easter baskets! They had so much fun ripping into it this year (last year we opened it for them, haha). It is so much fun getting to put together little things like this for our kids, one of the most fun things about being a mom!
My little early riser. Oliver often wakes up SO early and we get to spend sometime together. Sunday morning he was watching some Netflix and drinking his milk---precious!
The boys looking dapper for their 2nd Easter Sunday!
Asa is quite the opposite of Oli in that he sleeps SO MUCH! I had to wake him up on Sunday morning to get ready for church. I opened the blinds and turned of the sound machine and he was still snoring away, sweetness!
Oliver collecting rocks with his Papa after Easter Ice cream!
This collection of Easter baskets for the people I love made me so happy!
Our Easter family photo!
Asa had so much fun running around after Easter ice cream!
Hope you guys had a blessed Easter! <3
