Diary No. 10

hey there hi here ho there!

Happy Weekend!

I hope that you've had such a great week getting all the things done and getting all the rest! This week was good, but lately I've found the weekends are the best. Even though my weeks are pretty darn amazing, the family time on the weekend fills my soul! This week I went for a short walk with my boys and I was just quietly praying to the Lord to give me a local friend. I've been blessed with some incredible ride or die friends, who've been with me through all of the ugly things. Now, we are in different parts of the world. One lives across the country, one lives across the ocean. I wrote a post recently about loneliness in motherhood and I've just been praying and praying that God would open the door for me to meet another mama who *gets* it, who can go to the park or library with us, or grab coffee with me on a Saturday morning. It's something that I'm still praying about. But on this walk I had an idea to reach out in our neighborhood group and just see if there were any mamas around that wanted to hang out! I had a couple of responses so now I just have to pray for courage to overcome my new shyness post pandemic. I'm looking forward to the doors God decides open for me. I guess this week I'm really learning to pray pray pray, and then listen listen listen.

Also a quick update on Social Media: The desire to be present there is quickly slipping away. If you want to continue to keep up with what's going on, you should definitely sign up for my newsletter so you never miss an update!

Here's a little recap of another week in our life!

My mornings look like this: cup of coffee, planner for the day/week, two little boys eating breakfast next to me, and pacis everywhere always. I started drinking black coffee in the morning (I usually drink a homemade almond milk latte) and I've so been enjoying the smooth black coffee, it's the best in the dark of the morning! Here is a link to the coffee we buy. It's Italian and the smoothest coffee I've been able to find in the U.S.!

The sun coming into my kitchen window highlighting somethings that make me happy: Spider plant, the cup I place my wedding rings in when I wash dishes, a refreshing greeting, my thriving snake plant, and my *finally* blooming again red flamingo plant. Put plants in your sink windowsill, it makes washing dishes 3x a day cheerful.

Post-nap snuggles and giggles with my blue eyed boy.

Finally going through all the boys' too-small clothing and packing it away. I wish I had come up with a system for this before they were born so I could stay on top of it better, but better late than never and now I know for next time!

I took the boys on their first library trip and they had so much fun! I am so excited to make it a weekly visit. Unfortunately story-time hits right at nap time, but maybe soon we can go for story-time! They checked out their first books and it was so sweet to see them explore.

An *old* wedding photo. My childhood bestfriend is getting married next month and we were talking about center pieces. I had to look for a photo of mine to remember and I still love the way this DIY setting came about!

We finally filled our sandbox. To say it was a hit is an understatement! We did have to remove the spade and replace it with plastic ones until we can learn how to be safe with it. I see many many many hours spent here this summer!

My little guy looking at books at the table like such a *kid*. Where did my babies go?!

Nanny and Papa surprised the boys with a table *just* their size. It's precious seeing them sit their like such kids! They love it. Mom loves it too, it folds up flat so it is super easy to store!

Here's a link!

We had family visit on Saturday morning and the boys had so much fun that they were worn plum out!
