Hello 2020!

Happy New Year Friends!

How exciting it is to say goodbye to one year and hello to another. I can’t help but reflect on the past year while simultaneously planning for the new one. 2019 was a year full of fun, hard work, and a little bit of heartache. I wrote an entire post reflecting on the past year, but why look to the past when you can pray and hope for the future? I feel like a different person than I was this time last year. My life looks different, my priorities are different, my goals are different! I have two BIG goals for the new year that I am keeping to myself, and if I achieve them, I will be ready to share. I also have lots of smaller goals for myself, but if I think of them over a span of 12 months I get very overwhelmed. So I am going to start with just January’s goals, and each month I will try again if I failed and set new ones if I succeeded. I did this last year, and unfortunately did not make it very far. What is life if it isn’t failing to only get up and try again?

Here are my goals:

Fitness:

I plan on getting in 16 workouts this month. That is four per week. I am going to get these sixteen in even if I can’t get to the gym. If I miss the gym, I’ll do a simple body weight work-out at home. My fitness life has been low on my priority list lately and I am working on changing that because regular exercise makes my physical, mental, and emotional health so much better.

Writing: I have a lot of goals for writing this year, but I am starting by creating the habit of writing a blog post every week. Even if it is a simple picture with a short paragraph about how I am feeling that week, I will post every week. I want it to be more of a diary than a typical blog post style and I want it for myself more than really anyone else. I think this might help me keep my goals in front of me as well. Then, we’ll see what else we can get done.

Spiritual:

My goals in regard to my spiritual life are simple. I just need to get back into reading the Word daily. I am going to start studying Psalm 119 as deeply as I can, and I hope to share here each month a devotion based on that. I also need to work on my prayer life, but that is something I’m already doing!

Personal:

-Start classes

-Keep up with my planner every day

-Make something with my hands

-Finish book

There are more personal goals, but they are small and if I don’t get to all of them, that’s okay. My two priority goals are to start classes and keep up with my planner everyday. I’m registered for classes and have ordered my books, so that one is definitely going to happen. Keeping up with my planner every day is for my own sanity and productivity. These are some easy goals to achieve, that way I ensure I have SOME success, haha.

What are you goals for this year? Share some with me!
