Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Friends!
Tis' the most wonderful time of the year! It is my favorite Holiday and I am so ready for it! It is my first Christmas as a married woman and I am beyond excited for all the new traditions. I mean, last Christmas we got engaged, so it seems to me that Christmas is true magic and dreams come true!
This season is my favorite, for so many reasons that I am sharing with you RIGHT NOW!
Everything at Christmas gets automatically prettier, especially if it snows! People's homes, inside and out, are decked with lights and greenery. Stores have special painted windows and restaurants put up Christmas trees! The glow of lights strung on a tree and hooked across my ceiling add the coziest, warmest feeling to my home. Makes me want to snuggle nonstop! Fireplaces crackling and flickering and spreading warmth to those who rush inside to guard themselves from the cold. It truly is beautiful, despite the cold and barren trees.
To add to the gorgeousness of the Christmas season, every store, restaurant, and home is playing songs about jingling bells, red nosed reindeer, and silent nights. Whether they truly believe the reason for Christmas or not, every one hears songs about the Child who is the Great I Am, the manger, and rejoicing the Emmanuel. Of course there are the fun songs about decking the halls, Santa kissing mommy, and blue Christmases, but overall, the message is heard somewhere. I love Christmas music with my whole heart (but have sense enough to keep it special by only playing it this time of year), and I will be producing a Christmas playlist soon! Keep an eye on my Instagram story for some fun stuff too ;)
Christmas season? More like cookie season. Baking cookies is one of the most important parts of Christmas, and my FAVORITE! I can't wait to bake so many delicious cookies this season! Also, we get more pies, chicken noodle soup, and of course more ham and turkey for Christmas dinner! Seriously gonna get FAT this Christmas! Something sweet about Christmas that isn't cookie-related is that there is more time for people we love. I don't know why, but at Christmas time we make it more of a point to spend time with family and friends (we should do this all year, but we don't). I don't mind though, because it is so much fun! I am looking so forward to friends coming home from school and my brothers coming into town! I'm thankful for that break we get to have at Christmas time that allows us to spend so much with others!
Okay so I love the ambiance of Christmas: lights, decorations, and music. To add that that beautiful ambiance is the cold weather and snow! Have we actually gotten snow yet? no we haven't. But I am waiting in grand anticipation to receive some to make it really FEEL like Christmas time! It is cold, so I'll take that (and the cute outfits that come with it) for now. But I really hope that it comes ASAP as possible.
Christmas for a lot of people is about gift-giving, and while I don't believe that is the true purpose of Christmas, I love it! I love picking out, wrapping, and giving gifts to those I love! I have picked out some good ones so far and I can't wait to give them! I wrote a post about Christmas shopping if you need some tips!
We've talked about Ambiance, weather, baking, and gifts. But THEE most important reason for Christmas is Jesus Christ! I mean without Him, life would be meaningless as well as Christmas. Christmas is the celebration of the Savior coming to us, and that is the most wonderful part about Christmas. The part we all should focus on is that God came to earth, as us, for us. He came to live, only so that He could day. We should spend this season in utter and complete aw that our God, would become our Emmanuel. More on this to come December 4th.
Merry Christmas Friends,
Merry Freaking Christmas!!!!!!
