Thankfulness Thursday
Happy Thursday, Friends!
Today is the day in which I intentionally reflect on the past week and recount the things that I am grateful for. I encourage you to do the same thing, since November is the month of thankfulness! It is important to think about all that we have in a world that always reminds us of what we don't have. In the month of December, I will be continuing this on my Instagram stories! You can find the template I use in my Instagram highlights.
ONE // Family
I am so thankful for my family. This past week has been a difficult one of loss and grief, but it was a blessing to be with my sibling and parents all together again. It happens rarely these days, and it was nice to spend time with them again.
TWO // These Little Girls
These two sweet girls are my job, and they are such sweet little lights in my life. Though we have hard days and struggles, they daily bring a smile to my face. The day that I heard my grandmother passed, they were the best comforters and offered to hug me and asked me if I was okay all day long. They truly are sugar, spice, and everything nice. I'm so thankful to be apart of their lives everyday!
THREE // Safety
My husband and I drove over 2,000 miles in 3 days, a week after my car got out of the mechanic shop. I was prayed over our trip constantly for God's hand of protection, especially when we drove straight through the night in single digit temperatures. We passed so many cars on the side of the road and I prayed as we passed each one that it wouldn't be us. Thankfully the Lord kept my car running wonderfully and got us to Texas and home safely!
FOUR // A Free Gym
The gym I go to frustrates me a lot. You can't bring that drink in, don't do that, you have to take this assessment to work out, blah blah blah. Sometimes I let myself get really frustrated with certain aspects and people at the gym who don't do things the way I think they should be done. But, I am so thankful for my gym anyway. It is apart of a special program for Diabetes and therefore is completely free of charge. It is such a blessing to be able to go to a gym close to home for free! Overall, it is a pretty good gym and allows me to do what I love.
FIVE // Marco Polo
Marco Polo is an app that allows you to communicate similarly to Snapchat, but it has an unlimited time for videos, and you can watch live. It has been such a fun way to keep up with my best friend who lives in Missouri. With busy class, work, and personal schedules, planning time for phone calls can be difficult, and texting doesn't offer up the best interaction. Marco Polo allows us to have full conversations with each other when we have time and it is the best! I'm so thankful for a way to keep up with my long distance bestie!
(by the way, this is me, RIGHT NOW, as I write this post. #reallife)
SIX // Being Able to Listen to Music on My Commute
My car is 13 years old, so it doesn't have an auxiliary outlet, just a radio and CD player. While I'm in the process of finding a good car stereo that fits properly, I needed an in between fix (and one that I had before). I was listening to music through ear buds, but then they broke, and then they disappeared. I bought an FM converter (I used to have one, but it wore out and broke) and can now enjoy music on my commute to work in the morning! It's a little thing, but I am thankful for it.
SEVEN // Thanksgiving Break
Lucky me! I work for two school teachers who have a WHOLE WEEK for Thanksgiving! I am so excited for the break, and thankful that I get to spend a week with my husband getting in that good quality time. It's gonna be a fun time and I can't wait for it! I'll be keeping you updated on our break shenanigans (lots of doing nothing will be had, I'm sure).
What are you Thankful for this week?!
